Nowadays, most hotels do not have adapted rooms or only a few number of them. Despite the fact that some hotels have adapted rooms, sometimes they don’t have them in good conditions (e.g. they needs shower with a step, or wider doors, …). In addition, the common areas also do not accomplish the accessibility (e.g. bathrooms not adapted). Adapted transport and trained staff for people with disabilities are also needed.
If the hotels has services like Spa, pool, gym, bar, parking… They have to be also adapted for this people.
We recommend some good practices in the following sentences.
Rooms should include:
· Lowered hanging rail
· Lowered spy-hole in door
· Alarm pull cord in bedroom area
· Lowered light switches
· Smoking accessible room available
Bathroom facilities should include:
· Fully accessible roll-in shower
· Alarm pull cord in shower area
· Handrail
· Lowered sink and mirror
Spa and swimming pool should include:
· Trained monitors
· Pool lift
· Sloped entries
· Transfer walls
Common areas should include:
· Widers parking slots.
· Add ramps in all the Hotel
· Induction loop at Reception
· Fully accessible public areas
· All bedroom floors accessible by elevators
· Two-level counter
