When people with disabilities want to travel to a destination, they have to think before if they will be able to find accessible transport. So most part of the time they can’t choose where to travel because there are just a few accessible destinations.
The European Union is at present preparing a so-called public service contract Regulation, a central aim of which is to improve the quality of public transport, and in this way make the means of transport accessible for everyone. We want to give some proposals:
Firstly, an adapted Taxi, it should have a space to transport an electric wheelchair, because when a tourist with disabilities comes to an airport, he/she needs means of transport to go to the hotel.
Secondly, we propose to adapt all the public buses with platforms to help people to get on the bus.
Finally we think that the spaces between the train and the platform must be eliminated, so that people can’t fall in it.
